Learner Find Apprenticeships
What does Learner Find stand for?
Well, it sounds exactly as it looks, finding excellent apprenticeship learners by providing free services for apprentices and employers across England. Since 2016, 360 Apprenticeships have become one of the most proactive and largest learner find agencies in the UK. On average we have an 85% success rate in apprentices continuing on programme, all due to our learner find knowledge and expertise.
Business Development
One aspect that attributes massively to our 85% success rate is our business development. This is an ongoing process from start to finish, and even carries on when an apprentice has been placed. Our process starts with our sales and recruitment team by proactively contacting and communicating with potential and existing clients, getting to understand their needs and who they are looking for. Once an employer has been contacted and confirms that they are actively looking, they will be paired with one of our highly trained recruiters who will then start the learner find journey.
A unique selling point in 360 Apprenticeships business model is the choice of training provider. As we work with independent and nationally recognised training providers, every employer has a choice of who to work with for training. Each provider has their unique delivery model for each apprenticeship scheme, ensuring that each apprentice is given the best opportunity to complete their apprenticeship.
Finding the right Apprentice
At 360 Apprenticeships, we pride ourselves on delivering the best service to every employer and pairing each apprentice with the best Grade 1 and 2 training providers.
When it comes to finding the right apprentice, we only search for the best. To do this, there are a number of steps that our recruiters take such as:
- Writing detailed job descriptions and placing them on trusted job boards
- Actively searching for great candidates by looking at each application and using search tools
- Contacting each candidate to speak to them directly – here we ask them a number of questions to assess their personalities, skills and attributes.
- Discussing wages, journey planners (if they can commute) and progression routes from completing the apprenticeship
- IAG – Information, Advice and Guidance including interview preparation, CV tips
- Once we feel that we have found the right candidate(s) we send CVs directly to the employer to appraise
- Continuously keep in contact with each candidate to ensure that they are available for your position
- Booking candidates in for interviews that suit both parties
- Wether they are unsuccessful or offered the apprenticeship, we update each candidate on their progress
By having a such a great relationship with our existing employers, 360 Apprenticeships see at least 15 – 20% of our business from referrals. This is a testament to the success of our learner find practices and how 360 Apprenticeships is growing year by year.
Apprenticeship Pathways
When we talk about pathways within the apprenticeship scheme, it is about guiding the candidate down the right path and finding them the right career. For example, one candidate may apply for a business administration apprenticeship but have a passion for IT; so if we feel that they would be great for an IT apprenticeship, it is up to us to discuss that route with them.
Apprenticeship Pathways work for employers too. Once an apprentice has been signed with the training provider, some employers can even choose the units the apprentice will complete to suit the business. Some units are mandatory, but this lets you as an employer have some freedom with your apprentice.
Training Providers
So now we have successfully helped you find the perfect apprentice, it’s time to place them with the right training provider. Across England we only work with the best providers graded by Ofsted; so you know that your apprentice will be in good hands.
How is the training Delivered?
This does depend on the apprenticeship that the candidate has been placed in, but every apprentice will be paired with a tutor who will help guide them through the apprenticeship. Each tutor will come out to the workplace every 4-8 weeks (During the Covid-19 pandemic tutors will contact via phone or online), with apprenticeships such as Digital Marketing involving online weekly tutor sessions. Depending on the type of apprenticeship they will be completed within 12 – 18 months. Teaching, Childcare Digital and IT apprenticeships are 12 – 15 months while Business Administration will take 18 months.
How can Learner Finding help Training Providers?
We only want to find the best candidates for apprenticeships across England; so when it comes to training providers we want to work with the best. Whether it be a small local provider or nationally recognised, it is here that we can provide the best service for apprentice, employer and training provider.
In last few years 360 Apprenticeships have expanded their scope from just focusing on the North West, to working with employers, apprentices and training providers across England. Specialising in Business Administration, Digital Marketing, IT (Hardware & Software), teaching and childcare; we are able to service more areas and find more A* candidates for each employer and training provider.
