Having a good team dynamic is important for every business. Whether you have a team of 5 or 50, if your team works and communicates effectively, their development of ideas and productivity can improve.
A number of offices and teams dread the words ‘team building’, as many see it as a forced activity that doesn’t feel organic or wanted. When this happens the team’s enthusiasm can become stale. The most successful and memorable team building activities are ones that don’t feel forced or work based, which is why more and more companies are now looking outside the workplace to do this.
Manchester has grown drastically in the last few years, meaning there are more fun and exciting places to visit than ever before. With so many to choose from, it can be hard to know where to go. Below are just a number of places that are great for team building, no matter how big or small your team is.
Great for Team Building
If you are looking for activities that are based around team building, Manchester has a great range of fun places to visit with your team. Great examples on where to go are The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience and Escape rooms. Both are great for completing tasks that work against the clock, which can help improve time management and understand the teams’ strengths. Escape Rooms are located all across Manchester, meaning you’ll be spoilt for choice.
A fan favourite for fun and getting to know each other is bowling. With Dog Bowl and All Star Lanes being two of the most popular, they are easily accessible from the city centre. Both have an adult-like atmosphere meaning that your team won’t feel out of place. Bowling is great for both working together, or as friendly competition.
Fun and Different
For something that is different and fun can be difficult to find. Yet what may seem like every other activity may surprise you. Adventure Golf can feel repetitive, but somewhere such as Junkyard Golf situated near Deansgate is certainly a new experience. With three funky courses revolved around three different themes such as Neon fairgrounds and Aztec Jungles, this makes golf fun and a great alternative.
For one that’s more of a niche area, Whistle Punks Axe Throwing based in the Great Northern Warehouse is a definite. Mixing aim, focus, throwing skills and competitiveness into one fun night out.
Just a five-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Gardens, is a bar that’s quite different from the rest. Roxy Ballroom on Deansgate is a table top game and bar haven that is perfect for smaller teams, though can be booked for larger parties. With pool tables, air hockey and even beer pong areas Roxy Ballroom is certainly the place to go for a memorable night.
Time to Relax
If you’re looking for a more relaxed event, Cocktail Making is perfect. With classes all across Manchester in an array of different bars and each with themed drinks, a cocktail making night is great for your team to talk and get to know each other outside the office.
If a sport related activity that is calming and suitable for everyone is what you’re looking for, Trafford Golf Centre situated just 20 minutes outside the centre of Manchester is perfect. Suitable for small or large teams and all ages, golf is great for concentration and showing off your swinging skills.
Team building is one of the most important aspect of a working environment to bring each employee/team member together, so when the moral of your team increases their quality of work does too.
